Richardson police ask for help identifying man who kidnapped, raped woman leaving club at midnight Sunday

Richardson police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man they say kidnapped and sexually assaulted a woman shortly after she left a club early Sunday morning.
According to police, the incident occurred just after midnight Sunday, when the woman left a club near Belt Line and Plano roads. According to Sgt. Kevin Perlich, Richardson PD spokesman, she was walking toward her black SUV when a man grabbed her, flashed a knife and forced her to get in the car and drive east on Belt Line.
Two blocks away — near the 1000 block of Belt Line, police say — the man told the woman to pull into a parking lot. There, police say, “he sexually assaulted her on the ground outside of her vehicle.” He then ran off.
This is the description of the man offered by police:
The suspect has been described as a thin, w/m, 5’-9”, 40-50 years of age, unshaven with shoulder length brown/gray hair. He had yellow teeth, mumbled speech, body odor and the smell of alcohol about his person. He was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. He may be homeless.

Richardson police are asking anyone who recognizes the man or who has information concerning the kidnapping and assault to call the department at 972-744-4801.

RPD took nine incident reports where vehicles were entered and miscellaneous items taken, including wallets, purses, smartphones and GPS devices.
Most of the vehicles were left unlocked, providing an easy target.  Two vehicles had the convertible soft top cut, in order to reach in and unlock the door.  No windows were smashed or other signs of forced entry.
Car burglars rely on people leaving valuables in their car.  Remember to lock your vehicle when you leave it unattended.  Use the car alarm if you have one installed and above all, remove valuables.

Burglary of Habitation:
On 10/16/12 at 5:45am, RPD took a report of a burglary of habitation at 44XX Sanderosa Lane.  The resident said he was leaving for work this morning when he noticed items missing from the kitchen counter.  The resident checked further and discovered the garage door was open and the vehicle in the garage had also been burglarized.  The resident advised a noise was heard at approximately 3:30am, but it did not raise enough suspicion to investigate at the time.  Entry is believed to have been made through an unlocked door.
Regularly check doors and windows and make sure they are locked.  Use your home alarm system if you have one and call 9-1-1 to report anything suspicious immediately.  Check to make sure exterior lighting is working and adequately illuminates areas that can be used for concealment at night.
